My New Interactive Production Venture

Hi all,

I have been mainly working in video lately, but have had a lot of encouragement recently to return to the interactive realm.  I have also been feeling a strong call lately to start a production company that focuses on games and films with a Christian theme (though not preachy or in-your-face...it's not effective and turns a lot of people off).

I am looking for advice on how to get started, particularly in terms of what format our first product should take.  Naturally, I am considering making some sort of game, but I don't know how well the existing genres would support a game with a message about faith (see Catechumen http://www.n-lightning.com/catechumen.htm for a rather cheesy example of a first-person shooter gone Christian).

I am more interested in storytelling than gameplay, but also think that gameplay can involve a player in a story in a way that a movie alone cannot.  I also still have a very strong interest in games that integrate live-action video (something that is less-common nowadays).  Does anyone have any thoughts on a format for an interactive game such as this with a message?

I would think an RPG styled game would work pretty well.  Especially the kinds where you can really walk around and talk to the villagers and such.  Perhaps something where you go town to town and such trying to gain support from people...which could be by a wide variety of means.
